The position of women is important in society; women have a key role in any successful society. If a woman is educated, society will be developed and successful. Therefore, women play a very important role in building the family and the entire society. A woman should be seen as a human being to know what her rights are and what her freedom is.
A woman should be seen as a creature who can pave the way for the welfare and prosperity of society by raising high human beings; then, it will be understood what a woman’s rights are and what her freedom should be. The woman should be seen as the basic element of the family and the existence of the family.
The family is formed by the union of both men and women, and both have a fundamental role in its existence and survival, but the atmosphere of the home is. The nest’s tranquility and peace depend on the women and her feminine temperament. If a woman is seen from this point of view, it will be known how she sets the goals of perfection and what her rights are.
The National Bank of Pakistan has always emphasized promoting women’s empowerment and embracing equality. At NBP, we strongly believe that diversity is our strength and are committed to providing equal opportunities to our employees without discrimination.
Recently, our efforts were acknowledged at a global diversity, equity, ad inclusion (DEI) conference, where we were honored to receive an award for our efforts. During the event, our President also outlined the roadmap for women’s empowerment which the participants highly appreciated.
To celebrate international women’s Day at NBP, we organized a guest speaker session with Palwasha Bashir, who shared her inspiring journey against the odds of becoming the National Badminton Star. The Bank also offered massive discounts to our female staff & cardholders and turned our Head Office purple on 8th March 2023 to acknowledge the significance of International Women’s Day.
Our female staff also has the opportunity to experience the Women in Business Leadership Conference, providing them with networking opportunities and a platform to share their experiences. Also, to recognize the achievements of our female colleagues across the country, success stories of their accomplishments were published and shared with all staff.
Also, in March, events of Holi and Nawroz were celebrated across the Bank to promote inclusivity and share the festivities with our colleagues.
We strongly believe that women’s empowerment and diversity are a mindset that cannot be limited to a specific day or month. So let’s continue to celebrate and work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace where all our employees can thrive and make NBP an ideal workplace.
